Webinar: Theme Year Living Heritage 2023 – 07/11/2022

Year 2023 is a milestone in the history of the work around Intangible Cultural Heritage. It is the 20th anniversary of the 2003 Convention. At the same time, it will be celebrated throughout our continent as the European Heritage Days (EHD) theme year “Living Heritage”. These two initiatives give a firm background to lift up ICH in the agendas all across Europe! It will be a great possibility to create new kind of visibility for ICH and create synergies with institutions in national level.

Therefore, the European Network of Focal Points (ENFP) organised a webinar on the 7th November to give more information and to inspire colleagues to make the best out of this theme year.

In the programme we heard presentations from UNESCO/ Living Heritage Entity and also from the Council of Europe on the EHD theme year. After this we heard some inspirational examples from colleagues in different corners of Europe. In the small groups we continued planning the year and sharing ideas on how to best celebrate and benefit from the year.

The webinar was open for the experts working in the core of the implementation of the 2003 Convention in the region (UNESCO Group I and II countries): focal points, facilitators and NGOs involved in the coordination of the Convention. Furthermore, coordinators of the European Heritage Days were warmly welcome.

The language of the webinar was English. A recording of the plenary sessions will soon be available online.
